01 / NEAT · The house pour
Good & Easy
One large cube, a brief mist of orange oil, and nothing else in the way. This is the serve the bottle was built for — everything the rum does, it does out loud and without help.
Ingredients
- Boombangh The Good50 ml
- Ice, one large clear cube1
- Orange peel, wide strip, discarded1
Method
- Chill a rocks glass and drop in the cube. One big one, not a handful of small ones — you want it cold, not watered.
- Pour the rum straight over.
- Hold the orange peel skin-out above the glass and squeeze so the oil lands on the surface. Wipe the rim with it, then discard it.
- Leave it thirty seconds before the first sip. It opens up.
If you only ever make one of these, make this one. Everything else on this page is a variation on it.
